Kimberly Kuopus
PMHNP-BC, FNP-C, IBCLC
Kim has been a nurse for 26 years. She worked as an RN caring for cardiac, pediatric, OB, and NICU patients. She cared for moms with various pregnancy complications, including those with a history of substance abuse, during labor and delivery and postpartum; and also had the opportunity to care for their babies while in the NICU. In 2013, she studied with the International Institute of Human Lactation, and became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
This education supported and promoted her care working with mothers and babies. She received her MSN and became a FNP (family nurse practitioner) in 2017. After this she worked in a women’s health clinic where she provided prenatal and postpartum care. While caring for women during this very vulnerable period of life- pregnancy,
childbirth, and the postnatal period, Kim saw the importance of supporting a woman’s mental health. An emotionally and mentally healthy mother or woman, is able to make decisions promoting a healthy, balanced, productive future. To be better able to support mental health, Kim went back to school and became a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner in 2020. She combines her extensive years of patient care with the academic studies of a family and psychiatric nurse practitioner- to provide compassionate, holistic support throughout your journey.
